CHFA Launches Interactive Map Showcasing Build For CT
Feb 11, 2025
At CHFA, we believe that all residents in Connecticut should have a range of choices where they can live in affordable, safe, quality housing located in environmentally sustainable and economically healthy communities. As part of this mission, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Build For CT Story Map, a dynamic tool that showcases how the Build For CT initiative has positively impacted cities and towns across the state.
What is Build For CT?
Build For CT is a collaborative housing initiative between the Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH) and CHFA to create and leverage relationships with private sector banks and lending institutions utilizing $200 million in State bonding to address the housing needs of Connecticut's middle-income renters. This innovative public-private partnership aims to ensure that residents have access to quality housing while contributing to the state's economic vitality and future growth.
As part of this effort, we created a user-friendly mapping tool that serves as a valuable resource for individuals to easily explore and navigate the various housing developments established by the Build For CT program. This map helps connect stakeholders to the newly developed properties, ensuring better access to information and showcasing the program’s impact statewide.
What is the Build For CT Story Map?
The Build For CT Story Map is an interactive, user-friendly tool that combines maps, images, and narratives to highlight the program’s housing developments throughout Connecticut. As you navigate through the map, you can easily view detailed backgrounds of each project, including photos and location of each development. The Story Map will be continually updated as more Build For CT closings occur.
