A collaboration between the Connecticut Department of Housing and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority

Under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Connecticut has been awarded approximately $123 million to establish MyHomeCT, a program funded by the Homeowner Assistance Fund. The goal of MyHomeCT is to prevent mortgage delinquencies, defaults, and foreclosures among eligible homeowners as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program also includes assistance for qualified non-mortgage expenses, including but not limited to non-escrowed real estate taxes and insurance as well as condominium or homeowners' association fees. The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA), acting on behalf of the Department of Housing, has been chosen to administer the funds on behalf of the state.

MyHomeCT Pilot Phases

The first two pilot phases of MyHomeCT are now closed. During these phases, CHFA provided assistance to income-qualifying homeowners to resolve a mortgage delinquency and assist with forborne amounts caused by income loss and/or greater expenses due to COVID-19 that have negatively impacted a household’s ability to make their mortgage payments. MyHomeCT is offering a third pilot phase to assist homeowners facing an imminent non-mortgage foreclosure or tax sale. Please call Connecticut Fair Housing Center at (860) 263-0731 to review your situation.
