PERSONS WITH LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
A limited English proficient (LEP) person is someone who does not speak English as their primary language, and has a limited ability to read, speak, write, or understand English. If you have difficulty understanding English, you may request language assistance services. The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority has contracted with Interpreter and Translators (ITI), a company that provides interpretation and translation services in over 200 languages, including sign language.
ITI offers a range of services, including:
- In-Person interpreting
- Document translation
- Braille transcription
- Audio/Video transcription
- Editing and proofreading of documents
CHFA has documented its commitment to ensuring access to persons with Limited English Proficiency in its Language Access Plan.

The services are free of charge. To request any of these services, email us at chfa-lap@chfa.org. A CHFA representative will contact you via email regarding your request.
